High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic made from petroleum. Commonly used in the manufacture of plastic bottles, corrosion resistant pipes, waterproof membranes, and plastic wood in the food industry. The best type of resin for use in long-term food preservation is high density polyethylene (HDPE), which is indicated by the "2" symbol. HDPE is one of the most stable forms of plastics, and most of the plastic containers used for food preservation will be made from this material.
Most of the bottles of milk, fruit juices, or bottles of detergent, shampoo, dishwashing liquid, shower gel ... are all HDPE. Although the color is opaque but the plastic is considered safe because bacteria hard to accumulate due to the surface is quite smooth. HDPE is considered as easy to recycle.
